Each Cube offers an open-plan layout with a double bed, desk, sofa, shower room, and a compact kitchen equipped with induction hobs, microwave, and fridge. Sliding glass doors open onto private balconies that cantilever over a pond, offering stunning views of Loch Long and the surrounding landscape. 

The success of these initial units led to the addition of three more Cubes—Danna, Eriskay, and Fladda—in 2006. Like their predecessors, these units seamlessly blend functionality with aesthetic appeal, providing artists with a tranquil and inspiring environment to live and work. 

Studios: Where Creativity Takes Shape

Complementing the residential Cubes are three dedicated studio spaces—Studios 1, 2, and 3—also constructed from recycled shipping containers. These studios are fully insulated and equipped with essential amenities, including worktables, chairs, and sinks. Studio 2 even features an 80-liter kiln, catering to ceramic artists. Each studio boasts sliding glass doors that open onto balconies overlooking the pond and Loch Long, ensuring that artists remain connected to the natural beauty that surrounds them. 

The Jacobs Building: A Hub for Collaboration

Opened in 2016, the Jacobs Building serves as Cove Park’s communal space, fostering interaction and collaboration among residents. Designed by CameronWebster Architects, this award-winning facility includes a spacious kitchen, dining area, lounge, and wood-burning stove. It also houses the Monument Trust Room and the Robertson Trust Room, versatile spaces ideal for workshops, exhibitions, and performances. The building’s reference library, with over 1,750 donated books and journals, offers a wealth of inspiration for residents. 

Accessibility and Inclusivity

Cove Park is committed to inclusivity, offering accommodations like the Gigha and Hàslam units, which are designed with accessibility in mind. These spaces feature level access from the main car park, ramped entrances, and accessible wet rooms, ensuring that artists with mobility challenges can fully participate in the residency experience.
