Why Juliana Warken Made USA Containers Her Remote Career Choice

Juliana joined USA Containers in July 2024, bringing her adaptability, love for learning, and a unique background in teaching, translation, and customer support. She first heard about the company during her final week at Cumorah Academy in the Czech Republic, where she was studying business and entrepreneurship. Several classmates, already working for USA Containers, encouraged her to apply. The opportunity for a fully remote role was exactly what she had been looking for, a position that would allow her to be close to her family in Brazil while building an international career.

A Career Pivot

Before working for USA Containers, Juliana worked at the Missionary Training Center in São Paulo, teaching Portuguese, Spanish, and English to missionaries and helping them prepare for service abroad. She also worked as a translator and interpreter, balancing this with her studies in actuarial science. While she was skilled with numbers, she realized the traditional actuarial career path wasn’t for her. The Cumorah program gave her the space to redirect her career toward something more dynamic, combining her analytical skills with her love for communication.

Life in the Financial Operations Department

Today, Juliana manages driver documents, customer support, and financial operations at USA Containers. She handles calls, responds to emails, checks invoices, tracks dollar amounts, and ensures records are correct. Her earlier work in accessories support gave her a broad understanding of the company’s operations, and now she applies that knowledge daily to streamline processes. For her, working with numbers in this context feels natural: “I feel at home,” she says.

Challenges and Rewards

The most challenging part of her role is dealing with customers when tensions run high, but she approaches each interaction with patience and professionalism. She finds great satisfaction in problem-solving and in keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes. Watching new projects at USA Containers grow into fully functioning business ventures is especially rewarding for her.

A Love of Music and Travel

Outside of work, Juliana loves music and travel. She sings, plays guitar and ukulele, and is teaching herself piano. Her love of travel has taken her to Mexico for a company retreat, and she looks forward to future retreats in Dubai, and maybe one day Japan or Thailand.

Rooted in Family Values

Family is central to Juliana’s life as the youngest of four siblings. After years of moving between cities for work and study, she chose to return to southern Brazil to be near her large extended family. She now lives with her 76-year-old aunt, offering companionship and support. With several nieces and nephews — and more on the way — she treasures the flexibility her remote role provides to stay close to family while growing her career.

More Than Just a Company

Juliana sees USA Containers as more than just a company, to her, it feels like a family. She values the open communication, the supportive culture, and the sense of belonging. As she continues in her role as a Customer Support Specialist, she’s excited to contribute to the company’s success.
