THANKSGIVING IS ALL ABOUT SAYING - THANK YOU -

Through this, the USA Containers’ team wants to thank all our customers and wish them a fruitful end of the year.

It is Thursday. End of November. The smell of cooked food, a mixture of flavors reminiscent of childhood. Sweet potatoes, cornbread, vegetables, and pumpkin pie. It is a scent that everyone gathered at the table smells every year, on this day that has become an opportunity to meet relatives and dear friends. The host tactfully places the steaming turkey on the table and waits for the praise brought by the guests. It looks perfect, in its golden crust and with vegetables carefully placed inside.

There is silence because prayer is said. Each person says a few words and thanks the universe for everything good happened that year. It's evening and because for Americans the most important meal of the day is dinner, the feast could not be held any other time during the day.

This is how the image of Thanksgiving is drawn in our minds, a holiday that everyone associates with family, friends, delicious food and good times. A holiday of ancient origins, when the sun and rain were the ingredients that kept the crops rich, a time when people still worked their land on their own, and chemical fertilizers remained unknown to many of them. Those people had time to give thanks for the rich lands they had and dedicated a day to enjoy and celebrate. The first time Thanksgiving was celebrated was in 1621. Later, President Abraham Lincoln considered this day important enough to declare it a national day.

Time has passed, but the Americans, have not forgotten to gather every year, on the fourth Thursday of November to celebrate Thanksgiving Day or "Turkey Day". Officially, it is declared a day off, so the weekend is extended. No wonder these 4 days from the end of November became their most popular period for short holidays. Let's not forget that, unlike Europeans, Americans do not benefit from such a generous annual leave of one month.

The significance of the holiday has remained the same, but events and customs have been added and changed this holiday overtime. Now, Thanksgiving Day is a day when some of the biggest parades of the year are organized in cities, the day when the American president chooses to symbolically pardon two turkeys and thus ensure them a long and peaceful life. This day also marks the beginning of Christmas fairs and shopping, so you should not be surprised if on this day you will already see the cities dressed in lights.

Thanksgiving Day is an annual retreat of good things that are worth remembering and cherishing, it is proof that traditions are preserved, but also adapted to current times. And what could be more beautiful than a day of thanksgiving?
