Step-by-Step Installation
Step 1: Mount the Solar Panel
- Head to the roof of your shipping container and choose a flat spot that receives direct, unfiltered sunlight throughout the day.
- Secure the solar panel mounting bracket to the container steel using the appropriate hardware.
- Attach the solar panel to the bracket, angling it upward toward the sky to ensure maximum daily charging efficiency.
Step 2: Route and String the Lights
- Decide whether you want to use the lights on the exterior (for security and patio lighting) or pull them inside (through a passive vent or small pass-through hole) to light up the interior.
- Hang and hang the strand of 15 LED bulbs along the structural edges, roofline, or ceiling ribs of your container. Space them out evenly to get a wide, balanced glow across the entire area.
Step 3: Connect and Seal
- Plug the light strand's heavy-duty connector cable directly into the output wire of the mounted solar panel.
- CRITICAL STEP: If you routed the cable through a custom-drilled hole to bring the lights inside the container, apply a thick bead of exterior-grade silicone sealant completely around the opening to block out rainwater and maintain a 100% waterproof seal.
- Leave the system to charge in the sun for at least one full day cycle before initial use.
