This patch is a very unique, easy-to-use UV or sunlight activated, self-adhesive repair patch. It is fiberglass reinforced Polyester with extremely good adhesion properties for long lasting repair. This patch is non- flammable, non-toxic and adhesive is not harmful to skin. Easy to apply, no mixing, no weighing – one step no mess. Just cut, peel and stick. This patch is flexible, waterproof and UV and weather resistant. It can be drilled, tapped, sanded and painted in less than an hour. It is resistant against many chemicals, solvents and oils. Constantly temperature resistant from -40°C to 200°C. There is no shrinkage or expansion during the application or after curing. It will bond to all surfaces except for polypropylene (PP). It is fast curing (starting with 5 minutes depending on UV intensity).

How to use

Step-by-Step Repair Instructions

Step 1: Pinpoint the Leak from Inside

  1. Step inside the shipping container and close the cargo doors completely to block out exterior illumination.
  2. Look up at the ceiling panels and structural corners. Look for any visible pinpricks or beams of daylight piercing through the roof skin—this instantly marks your exact crack location.

Step 2: Prep and Sand the Exterior Surface

  1. Put on your safety gloves and climb onto the roof of the container to access the leak area from above.
  2. Take a sheet of heavy-grit sandpaper and vigorously sand the steel surface directly surrounding the crack.
  3. CRITICAL STEP: Sand down completely to bare metal, clearing away all layers of rusted scaling, loose flakes, and old factory paint. Removing these contaminants gives the specialized adhesive patch a clean, ultra-strong surface to fuse onto.

Step 3: Apply the Fiberglass Patch

  1. Pull the backing sticker cleanly off the fiberglass repair patch.
  2. Pro-Tip: Work efficiently during this step if you are under direct sunlight. UV rays rapidly activate the curing process, causing the patch to stiffen quickly.
  3. Center the adhesive side of the patch directly over the cleaned crack and press it down firmly.
  4. Maintain heavy, steady hand pressure over the patch for roughly 30 seconds to lock out any trapped air bubbles and ensure total edge-to-edge adhesion.

Step 4: Let the Patch Cure

  1. Allow the patch to cure completely. Under standard ambient sunlight, it takes up to 24 hours to transition into a rigid, steel-like barrier that cannot be removed.
  2. Weather Note: Do not apply this patch in freezing temperatures or during active rain. If you live in a overcast, low-sunlight climate, use a portable heat gun to artificially activate and bake the fiberglass resin until it hardens completely.

Step 5: Paint for Protection

  1. To seamlessly blend the patch with your structure and add an extra layer of UV and moisture protection, shake a can of matching rust-resistant exterior paint (e.g., Heritage Red).
  2. Spray or brush a uniform coat of paint directly over the cured fiberglass patch and surrounding bare metal edges. Allow it to dry completely.

This stuff is crazy! In the best way. I am baffled at how simple, quick, and mess free it was. I used it to patch some holes and holy smokes was it solid! Absolutely incredible stuff!

One of our cargo shipping containers had a hole in it from a fork lift and we were not in a position to weld it shut. We thought about giving this fiberglass patch a try and were we surprised! Very easy to use, and great adhesion. One this that you will also need is a UV light to harden the material. Also on a side note, the fumes are very strong so let it ventilate and once its hard, you can use some spray paint to cover it up and remove the smell somewhat. Much cheaper than welding and if you are using it so critters don’t get in, it worked great!

  • Christopher M.

Works exactly as the manufacturer indicates. Once opened, it is as pliable as a band-aide and easy to handle. Adheres strongly to the surface and once you leave it in the sunlight for a hour or so, it gets as stiff and strong as a fiber glass tub. Once set and hardened, you can then sand it to your desired thickness it sealed it perfectly! A little pricy, but it’s worth it!

  • Sam S.

This is exactly what he asked me to purchase for his project. So glad they had it for sale.

  • Amacu K.

This product is absolutely amazing . Used it to fix my RV gate and it really is an amazing product . I would recommend this to everyone.

  • Harold T.

This is a “must have” for any repairs, far surpasses expectations and does as advertised!! It bonds very well and hardens in direct sunlight in 10 minutes. Coatings can be applied in about 15 mins if needed although I wait 24 hours to be sure. I used it to repair the metal roof on a shipping container and it worked perfectly!

  • Bill P.

This is a big time saver. No mixing. Just cut to size. Gets rock hard after UV exposure.

  • Adam D.

Great product cheaper and bigger then worth’s product and I’d pick it again many times hardends like a rock repair truck bed and still just as strong.

  • Dave C.

I didn’t use this for an actual patch, I wanted something to take the brunt of the rocks, concrete, sand and gravel that the keel of my kayak is subjected to and I chose fiber patch. It has a strong chemical oder so it’s best to apply in a ventilated area. I precut my 9×12 patch in a dark area and then cleaned the keel and applied in my garage. Once i moved it into the sun it became rock solid. It’s easy to apply and sticks almost immediately, I pressed all areas down for best adhesion. I like how it can be adjusted and applied to small or large areas. I had a gouge that I covered as well. Will see how it holds up, will update review with results. I also like the fact that its made in USA. So far i would buy again.
