What You’ll Need (Kit Contents):

  • Puck Lock with keys
  • Carriage bolts, nuts, and washers
  • Marking plate

What You’ll Need (Tools):

  • Drill
  • Large drill bit (for bolt holes)
  • Small drill bit (for pilot holes)
  • Permanent marker
  • Tape measure (optional)

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Mark the Drill Holes

Center the marking plate on the desired location on your container door. Use a permanent marker to mark the four drill holes.

2. Drill Pilot Holes

Using a small drill bit, drill pilot holes in the center of each marked square. This will prevent the larger drill bit from wandering.

3. Drill the Main Bolt Holes

Using the large drill bit, drill out the four holes for the carriage bolts. Use the pilot holes as a guide to keep the holes aligned.

4. Mount the First Bracket

Insert two carriage bolts through the holes on one side of the door from the outside. The square part of the carriage bolt will fit into the corresponding square hole in the bracket.

5. Secure the First Bracket

From the inside of the container, place a washer and then a nut onto each of the carriage bolts. Hand-tighten the nuts for now.

6. Mount the Second Bracket

Repeat the process for the other side of the lock box. It may be helpful to loosely attach one nut to hold the bracket in place while you insert the second bolt.

7. Secure and Tighten

Place the washers and nuts on the remaining bolts. Once all bolts are in place, use a wrench to tighten all the nuts securely.

8. Insert the Puck Lock

With the lock box securely mounted, insert the puck lock. Turn the key to lock it, and remove the key.
